Four analog formats share one coax on the VDC-MC02F20NS, a multi-format starlight miniature camera: 1920×1080 at 2MP under the three high definition coaxial standards and 960H under composite video, switched through a menu available in English, simplified and traditional Chinese, and French. A 1/3-inch progressive scan CMOS with the Nextchip 2441 and SONY IMX307 platform provides the imaging, reaching 0.001Lux color and 0.0005Lux monochrome sensitivity with at least 65dB signal-to-noise, alongside noise reduction, wide dynamic range, automatic backlight compensation and automatic white balance.

Coaxial control overlays menu operation onto the video cable, avoiding additional wiring when the camera must mix with existing analog high definition host equipment. The M12 high definition fixed lens ships in 3.6mm with 6mm and 8mm alternatives, F1.4 aperture and a 79° field of view; day/night change uses an external filter, and privacy masking, defog, motion detection and mirroring complete the feature set.

The slim cylindrical body measures 80mm by 20mm across, weighs 0.08kg and is sealed to IP66 for outdoor duty. It accepts DC 12V ±10% power under 5W and operates from -20°C to +50°C.
