This 4K IP camera tester carries a 7 inch retina touch panel with a 1920x1200 screen resolution, so camera pictures are viewed and judged on the panel itself. It covers both front-end families: coaxial high-definition cameras at up to 8MP in TVI, CVI or AHD format, and network cameras through its dual RJ45 ports, with CVBS analog testing still available for older equipment. Menu switching and picture browsing are done by touch without an external monitor, making resolution, colour and image stability easy to check on the spot. Beside camera testing, the unit runs an RJ45 cable test based on TDR measurement, showing whether a network cable is intact and where a fault lies, and the Testerplay function sends the tester screen to another display so a colleague or customer can follow the same picture.

Commissioning and after-sales service are the main uses, and every judgement can be made on the tester itself rather than by carrying cameras back to the office. The line under test is connected, the matching format is selected and the picture is read; a missing image usually means the camera and the tester are set to different standards. When testing an IP camera, one network port serves the device while the other stays linked to the local network, which makes address and link comparisons easier. Once cabling is finished, the TDR function checks terminations and finds a break before the cable is pulled again.
