The new converter maps 8MP TVI, AHD and CVI inputs to HDMI, VGA and CVBS outputs with a coaxial loop-through, covering port layout, resolution ranges and two retrofit wirings.
Port Configuration
The input side is one BNC accepting TVI, AHD and CVI coaxial HD signals, up to 8MP. The output side has four paths: a coaxial loop-through that forwards the original signal to the recording host, one HDMI Type-A output, one VGA output and one CVBS standard-definition output. The unit measures 80x84x28 mm, weighs 185 g net, draws at most 4 W from a 12V power adapter, and can be fixed to a bracket behind a monitor.
The loop-through path is prepared for retrofit projects that keep the original line: the coaxial cable between camera and control room stays untouched, the converter is inserted in front of the display end, and the recording host still receives the coaxial signal. The same run keeps recording to the host while the high-resolution image goes to a monitor for detail, with no rewiring required.
Resolution Support and Display Hookups
The input recognizes 720P tiers such as 25Hz, 30Hz, 50Hz and 60Hz plus coaxial HD signals from 1080P up to 8MP, with the specific frame rate varying by resolution. The table below lists each output interface's resolution range and common hookup on this model; the figures come from the product datasheet, and final display still depends on what the backend display device accepts.
Frame rate dropping as resolution rises is one point that needs stating early for this kind of design. The datasheet's input tiers cover many frame-rate combinations at 720P and 1080P, and at 8MP the frame rate takes the ceiling of the coaxial HD standard. During commissioning, first check the recording host's recording capability on that channel, then decide which front-end tier to use, so as to avoid the converter displaying normally while the host drops frames at high resolution.
| Output interface | Supported resolutions | Common hookup |
|---|---|---|
| HDMI | 720P@60Hz / 1080P@60Hz | Main display on a monitor or LCD television |
| VGA | 720P@60Hz / 1080P@60Hz | Keeps old monitors in the equipment room in service without screen replacement |
| CVBS | Standard-definition signal output | Legacy monitor wall or analog input on a recording host |
| Coaxial loop-through | Follows the input format | Inserted in line with the original recording host, keeping the original wiring |
Differences from Sibling Models
The same series also has a 5MP version: input up to 5MP, outputs of coaxial loop-through, HDMI and CVBS, body 80x84x28 mm, net weight 200 g. The two differ in the input ceiling and in whether VGA is included. Control rooms that must drive old VGA monitors, or sites whose cameras are already 8MP coaxial HD models, take the new unit; projects that only do big-screen HDMI display with points staying at 5MP fit the 5MP version better.
The reverse direction has a matching product: the 1080P HDMI-to-AHD converter turns the HDMI signal of a computer, player or conference device into AHD-1080P onto the coaxial line, with two BNC outputs, HDMI input and loop-through, a supply range of DC 5V to 12V, and modes split as PAL 1080P@25 and NTSC 1080P@30, commonly used to feed external pictures into an existing coaxial monitor wall. When wiring on site, tell input from output by the loop-through direction; a reversed connection gives power but no picture, and the bundled manual marks the matching diagram.
Extension and Companion Devices
Across distances that are hard to wire, such as halls, stages or conference rooms, a wireless HDMI extender can be paired: the 1080P and 4K versions both carry a nominal transmission distance around 200 meters, with the receiver feeding a monitor or converter. On the capture side, use the AHD/TVI/CVI/CVBS to USB 3.0 video capture card, with BNC input, driver-free UVC operation, output up to 1920x1080 at an adjustable 5 to 60 fps, working under Windows, Linux and Android.
This model now accepts sample testing; samples are usually 3 to 5 units and small batches 50 to 200 units, with silkscreen and packaging customized per customer requirements.
