Incoming Inspection and Dust-Control Upgrade on the Assembly Line

Intake checks for image sensors, main control chips and lenses, plus the clean workstations and anti-static measures added for miniature camera assembly and traceability.

Key Materials Checked by Category

Incoming inspection runs on three benches by material category: image sensors, main control chips, and lenses with structural parts. Sensors are checked by package marking and batch number, with samples mounted on a test socket for image output; main control chips are checked for part number, production date and intact anti-static packaging; lenses are grouped by focal length, with spot checks comparing center and corner sharpness. Common parts are the 1/3 inch SONY IMX307 and IMX335 and the 1/2.9 inch GC4653 photosensors, paired with controllers such as the Nextchip 2441 and Fullhan 8538M, and different combinations produce different image results.

Cables, housings and packaging follow a second flow, sampled for appearance and dimensions by inbound batch. Cable length is the item most easily mis-ordered, so every cable reel is measured once at intake and registered, then checked against the work order again during shipment kitting. One inbound batch maps to a single supplier batch; mixed batches are logged separately, so a later problem can be traced by batch number to the exact reel of cable or box of lenses.

Check Items and Dispositions

The check items are printed on the incoming inspection sheet, and dispositions are limited to three levels: pass, concession acceptance and return to stock rejection. Concession acceptance requires the quality manager's signature, with the applicable work order number and release scope noted on the sheet. Sample sizes depend on the inbound batch: below fifty pieces a fixed count is drawn, above that the sample grows proportionally, and the person judging must not be the person who picked the materials. The entries below are the fixed items of the current version.

  • Appearance and markings: package intact, part number legible, batch number matches the delivery note
  • Power-on test: sensor and controller combinations output image on a test socket first, confirmed free of dead pixels and streaks
  • Image consistency: sampled units from one batch sit side by side for color, brightness and noise reduction comparison
  • Lens spot checks: field of view verified per focal-length group, center and corner resolution compared
  • Structural parts: housing dimensions, screw hole positions and sealing surfaces match the drawing
  • Packaging and silkscreen: color box and label content checked against the order's language version

Dust and Static Controls at Assembly Stations

Miniature camera boards are small, and 30x30 mm models are the most sensitive to dust during assembly. After the upgrade, the bare assembly steps for photosensors and lenses are concentrated inside clean workstations with local airflow and sticky dust mats; operators wear finger cots and wrist straps, and strap grounding is recorded once per shift. Lens cleaning now uses separate cotton swabs and cleaning fluid, and blowing the sensor surface directly with an air gun is prohibited.

IR boards and filters are assembled at the adjacent station, glued and positioned on a fixture before fastening so manual pressing does not warp the board. After each unit is finished, the board is flipped to check solder joints and ribbon cable routing before it enters the aging flow. Since the upgrade, station cleaning is a fixed pre-shift and post-shift task, and materials may not sit on the bench overnight.

Traceability Records and Batch Mapping

The traveler card follows the machine from material picking and records part numbers, batches, assembly station, aging rack number and recheck conclusion. Export batches add one page on video standard and language, marking the OSD languages supported and the preset frame rate, packed with the goods. After delivery, customers can look up that batch's incoming records and aging data with the serial number on the camera body.

Incoming acceptance criteria and station work instructions are updated as product structures change; each revision marks its effective date on the first page and the old version stops at the same time. For the latest version, or to confirm whether a given sensor and controller pairing suits your enclosure environment, email info@vctcctv.com or call +86-755-33130307 to reach the quality team; after you state the material category and use, the inspection sheet template and disposition notes are returned together.
