The coaxial HD AHD camera series has entered volume production in the 720P, 960P and 1080P bands, switches between PAL and NTSC, and records over the existing coaxial line with analogue HD DVRs.
This series is aimed at retrofit sites that still rely on coaxial wiring: swapping the front-end camera lifts clarity from standard definition to AHD 720P, 960P or 1080P, while the existing RVVG 75-5 or 75-3 coaxial run and its BNC connectors stay as they are. On the recorder side, any DVR that supports the matching AHD band records directly.
Series line-up
- 720P band: replacing legacy channels where the count is high and the bit rate is limited
- 960P band: a middle point between 720P and 1080P recorders for bandwidth and detail
- 1080P band: entrances, cash desks and other positions where fine detail has to be readable
Engineering notes
AHD responds to cable length and connector workmanship, so long runs should use 75-5 cable with waterproofed terminations. Night-time illumination is matched to lens focal length and viewing distance so the near field does not blow out. The TV system switches between P (PAL 25) and N (NTSC 30) and has to match the setting on the DVR.
Supply and customisation
Once the series is in volume production, samples and batch test units are available, with customisation of the housing silk-screen, lens focal length, IR board configuration and cable length. Shenzhen Angsen Technology Co., Ltd. (VIDCOM) develops, manufactures and sells its own security imaging range; the same factory also builds video converters, encoders and CCTV testers, so a complete system can be validated together.
